Director of Aquatics

Job Summary: The Director of Aquatics will align with Benchmark, A Global Hospitality Company's mission, vision, organizational values, and under the direction of the General Manager, the Director of Aquatic Operations will be responsible for the all aspects of the Kartrite Waterpark, including but not limited to operations, planning, budgeting, staffing and payroll. The Director of Aquatics is responsible for maintaining a level of service that exceeds the Guests' expectations and ensures a positive working environment for its Associates. Job Description: Specific Functions: Assist the General Manager and Hotel Manager daily in all other waterpark functions as required. Direct participation in all Lifeguard Operations team recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and paperwork processes ensuring complete accuracy upon submission. Facilitate all Ellis and Associates International Lifeguard Training programs with compliance of all team members while adhering to standards of completion. Administrate Coaching for Success programs for all team members with follow up. Responsible for all lifeguard operations related uniform items ordering, receiving, and distribution. Responsible for install, maintenance and removal of all lifeguard station tools, and equipment. Accountable for all lifeguard designated facility waterpark maintenance functions. Support and supervise Managers, Supervisors and Lead Guards in the operation of the Waterpark facilities. Develops, implements and monitors work schedules for the Waterpark operation within established budgetary guidelines. Responsible for the development, implementation and achievement of budgetary goals. Responsible for content and administration of daily morning meetings and dissemination of information to all team members. Actively participate with Safety Committee to uphold the highest levels of employee safety. Facilitate all weekly safety meeting program delivery and documentation. Provide Lifeguard Operations orientation training and waterpark ride operations training programs. Assist with in-service training agendas and implementation planning weekly, monthly, seasonally. Maintain a general knowledge of the entire Resort operation and participates in the Waterpark Manager on Duty Program. Submit expense and capital budget recommendations on or before due date.  Attendance at weekly staff meetings and effectively communicate pertinent information. Projects a positive public relations image to staff and guests at all times. Have a working knowledge regarding all mechanical systems within aquatic facility and demonstrate ability to react as necessary to any facility emergencies. Ensure that all waterpark facilities zones of responsibility are protected. Monitor completion of opening/closing checklists, rescue reports, Vigilance Awareness Training, in-service training and other documents required by E & A's Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program. Coordinate with Marketing department for any waterpark event requirements. Responsible for in-season and post season inventory and storage of all lifeguard related items. Responsible for seasonal debrief information collection and submission. Complete job performance evaluations in a timely manner. Job Qualifications: Leadership, solution to challenge development, organizational and communication skills required. Team building skills and team building exercise administration. Able to work well with others required. Strong customer service and guest recovery skills required. Long term team development planning abilities. Long term business development planning abilities. Valid driver's license preferred. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) required. Developed experience with administration of Kronos time record systems. 3-5 years Supervisory/Managerial experience in guest service industry with demonstrated ability to deliver guest satisfaction required.  Knowledge of waterpark industry standards, as well as applicable Department of Health and Pa. department of Agriculture rides and measurements information required. Demonstrated ability to multi task through completion and follow up. Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead lifeguard Operations team members to achieve organizational goals required. Strong general knowledge of computers, various electronic devices, and various software preferred. Excellent organizational skills for keeping detailed records, reports and logs. Demonstrated ability to visually assess and evaluate safety hazards in the work place as mandated by OSHA and Ellis and Associates safety procedures required. Ellis & Associates Licensed Instructor required. Special facilities level preferred Certified Pool Operator certification preferred or willing to train. 3-5 years of lifeguard experience required. Prior experience supervising Lifeguard/Waterpark Operations required. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
